Creative Process

It has been handmade by me in my little studio. Small pebbles of glass in different colours have been made in a previous firing and then these are used to form the heart on a clear glass base. The piece is then fired in my kiln for a second time to just the right temperature so that the glass only just starts to melt and fixes itself to the glass base. The result is a smooth raised contour to the surface making a very tactile piece. Each time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed to give it durability and strength. The finished piece has then been carefully framed and is ready to hang.

The glass piece measures approx. 11cm x 11cm.

The Rainbow Heart Picture box frame measures approximately 26cm X 26cm square and 3cm deep and available in a choice of white or black, please leave me a note of your preferred colour at the checkout.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and then carefully packed and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail using only recycled, biodegradable or paper packaging.
