DESCRIPTION

This beautiful hand-crafted fused Glass Purple Bowl is perfect for your tea light candles, loose change, keys, earrings, rings, snacks, sweets or for displaying your little treasures.

This Purple Bowl is a one of a kind handmade item, so the one in the picture is the one you will receive.

CREATIVE PROCESS

The piece has been made by firstly cutting circles from clear and transparent purple glass. A range of small coloured glass pieces known to react with the purple glass are arranged to form a pattern. The piece is then fired in the kiln to fully fuse all the glass together by melting, at this temperature the coloured glass reacts with the tiny glass pieces to create a lovely halo effect on the surface. On a second firing the glass is placed on a ceramic mould which slumps the flat piece into a shallow bowl. Each firing process can take up to 14 hours to complete and every time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed for long enough to give it durability and strength.

Hand washing the dish is recommended.

The little dish measures approximately 13cm in diameter x 3 cm high

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully wrapped inside a box with tissue paper packing. The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail.
