Creative Process

They have been handmade by me in my little studio. Hand cut strips of glass have been arranged to form the petals and pieces of crushed glass are then added to make the centre of the flower. The piece is then fired in my kiln to just the right temperature so that the glass only just starts to melt and fixes itself together to form a solid piece. The result is a smooth raised contour to the surface making a very tactile piece. Each time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed to give it durability and strength. The finished piece has then been carefully framed and is ready to hang.

Size Details

The glass piece measures approx. 15cm in diameter.

The white box frame measures approximately 26cm X 26cm square and 3cm deep.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and then carefully packed and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail using only recycled, biodegradable or paper packaging.
