Creative Process

Small pieces of coloured glass have been arranged on a coloured base to make the flower design. The piece is then fired in my kiln to just the right temperature so that the glass only just starts to melt and becomes a smooth raised contour to the surface making a very tactile piece. Each time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed to give it durability and strength. The finished piece has then been carefully mounted onto a brushed aluminium panel and is ready to hang. The shiny metal surface reflects light back onto the glass making a stunning piece.

Size Details

The glass piece measures approximately 12cm x 12cm and the aluminium sheet measures approximately 25cm X 25cm square.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and then carefully packed and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail using only recycled, biodegradable or paper packaging.
