Blue Poppy Flower

DESCRIPTION

These beautiful hand-crafted fused Glass Blue Poppies are perfect for your pant pots or borders in the garden where they will really pop or indoors in a vase to make a beautiful display.  

The Blue Poppies are handmade so will not be identical to the images shown but will be made just for you! As a result, slight variation from the image shown should be expected.

CREATIVE PROCESS

The piece has been made using a variety of colours of glass, cut into petals to make the poppy shape and black frit added to the centre. The piece is then fused together in the kiln before being shaped into a curve on a second firing. The flower is then attached to the aluminium stem after it has been fired. The stem is approximately 12 inches long and is easily bendable and can be cut down if required. The glass flower has been secured to the stem with a nut and bolt and can be removed if required. Each firing process can take up to 14 hours to complete and every time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed for long enough to give it durability and strength. 

SIZE DETAILS:

Flower head is approx. 9 cm in diameter and the stem is 12 inches (30cm) long.

The aluminium stem may be coiled slightly for shipping purposes. You can bend and shape your stem any way you like.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully wrapped inside a box with tissue paper packing. The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail.
