These beautiful hand-crafted fused Glass Four Seasons Trees Handkerchief Vase/Candle shades is great for a small posy of flowers or a perfect shade for your Candles and looks great on a window sill, mantel piece or as a table centrepiece.  The textured raised contour to the fused glass surface makes it a very tactile piece that you’ll want to touch!

Four Seasons Trees Handkerchief Vase/Candle shade is a handmade and made to order item, so it will not be identical to the images shown but will be made just for you! As a result, slight variation from the image shown should be expected.

Creative Process

The piece has been made using a variety of glass mediums. The tree trunks are hand painted on a clear glass base using glass paints made for fusing and then small pieces of coloured glass and have been arranged to make the design. The piece is then fired in the kiln to just the right temperature so that the glass only just starts to melt and becomes a smooth raised contour to the surface making a very tactile piece. On a second and final firing the piece is placed on a narrow circular mould around which the glass can drape forming the distinctive ‘Handkerchief’ shape. Each firing process can take up to 14 hours to complete and every time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed for long enough to give it durability and strength.

As these are hand made and draped in the kiln they are not completely symmetrical but unique one of a kind pieces!

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully gift wrapped in an organza bag inside a box with tissue paper packing. The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail.
