Crashing Sea Wave Sculpture in Oak stand

This beautiful Crashing Sea Wave sculpture in a wooden stand looks great on a window sill, mantel piece or as a table centrepiece. The textured raised contour to the fused glass surface makes it a very tactile piece that you’ll want to touch!

Creative Process

The piece has been made by layering pieces of coloured glass which have been arranged to make the design. Some sparkly dichroic glass is added to give a sparkle to the crashing wave. The piece is then fired in the kiln to just the right temperature so that the glass only just starts to melt and becomes a smooth raised contour to the surface making a very tactile piece. Each firing process can take up to 14 hours to complete and every time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed for long enough to give it durability and strength. 

Size Details:

The wooden base measures 10cm long x 3.5cm wide. The wave is a circle of 14cm wide x 6mm thick. Total height of the piece in the stand is 15.5cm.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully packed.  The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail.
