Creative Process

This Curve is handmade from artisan glass in our studio in Derby. The design has been made with a base layer of clear glass on which layers of glass powder have been used to make the background. The design is added on a second layer of glass and the two are fused together in a kiln leaving a smooth shiny finish. On a second firing  the flat glass piece is slumped over a mould in the kiln to shape it into a curve. Each time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed to give it durability and strength.

The curve measures approximately 13.5 cm tall x 9 cm wide.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully gift wrapped in an organza bag inside a box with tissue paper packing. The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by Tracked 48 Royal Mail. 

This item is ready for dispatch within 2-3 days.
