Blue Wave Handkerchief Vase/Candle Shade

This beautiful hand-crafted fused Glass Handkerchief Vase is great for a small posy of flowers or a perfect shade for your Candles and looks great on a window sill, mantel piece or as a table centrepiece.

Creative Process

The piece has been made using a variety of glass mediums. Beginning with a square of clear glass as a base small pieces of blue glass have been cut and arranged on the clear base in such a way as to create a crashing wave design. The piece is then fired in the kiln to fuse the design onto the base. On a second and final firing the piece is placed on a narrow circular mould around which the glass can drape forming the distinctive ‘Handkerchief’ shape. Each firing process can take up to 14 hours to complete and every time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed for long enough to give it durability and strength. 

As these are hand made and draped in the kiln they are not completely symmetrical but unique one of a kind pieces!

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully packed with tissue paper packing. The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail.
