This Autumn Leaf mounted on aluminium is a handmade item, the one in the photograph is the one you'll receive! 

The leaf measures 24cm at the widest point. The frame measures 25cm x 25cm.

Creative process

The piece has been made using glass powders and frits (tiny pieces of glass). The various colours are arranged inside a mold. The piece is then fired in the kiln until it is completely melted and forms the shape and contours of the leaf.  On a second firing the glass is placed on a ceramic mold which shapes the flat piece curling up the edeges of the leaf. Each firing process can take up to 14 hours to complete and every time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed for long enough to give it durability and strength.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully packed.  The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail.
